We Are Getting Closer!

Well, I still have another week before I can get back into my classroom.  In the meantime, I have been preparing as much as I can from home.
Today I am linking up with

First off here are my recent purchases:
This rug will go in my classroom library.  I found it at Big Lots.

These Jack Hartmann CD's were on sale at nestlearning.com

Then, I got this Filetastic from Mardel's.  I still need to get some neat folders to place in them and find the perfect place to hang it in my classroom.

Now for my Monday Made It!
#1:  I made my bucketfiller pocket posters.  I plan to use these to go with the gold tags idea over at Kristin's Teeny Tiny Teacher!  Check out her post!  I am so excited to try this out.  I was ready for a change.

#2
Recently, my family watched the show, Hey Kids, Let's Cook!  We decided to try out the Pepperoni Pizza Soup and Cheesy Breadsticks. Yummy!

First Grade Skill Rings at 1st Grade Hip Hip Hooray!

I have not posted in awhile.  We had another great camping trip with close friends.  This time we enjoyed the beaches of Lake Michigan....

and some thrills at Michigan's Adventure!

I want to share with you a blog that I learned about last week.  I was instantly impressed!  Michele at 1st Grade Hip Hip Horray! has a great blog and a tpt Store!  I first heard about her blog through Primary Graffiti where Michele's FREE Common Core Skill Ring/Assessment package-1st Grade was highighted.

This freebie gives you a great look at what her Skill Rings are all about!  I was instantly intrigued and had to learn more!  After I downloaded here freebie, Michelle also sent me her Common Core Skill Ring/Assessment-Math 1st Grade Packet!

She has skill ring packets for all subject areas to cover all of the Common Core areas.  Each student has two rings.  One for the skills they are practicing and one for the skills that they have learned.  Vocabulary posters and more are included!
This is an AWESOME way for your students to take ownership of their own learning and keeping track of their successes!  I am looking forward to implementing this into my classroom this year!  Be sure to check out her blog and tpt store!

Monday Made It and More Classroom Progress

I made it into my classroom again today.  Now this will be it for TWO WEEKS due to work being done in the building.  However, today made a huge dent in my set up progress!  First, I want to link up with Monday Made It from 4th Grade Folics!

I LOVE my new Daily 5 Clip Chart that I found FREE from Seusstastic Classroom Inspirations!

This will hang on my Daily 5/CAFE board.

I am also working on my new Word Wall.  I found these letters from Jessica on TPTor $2.

Here is what my room looked like on my way out today.  You may not notice a huge change.  However, my garland borders are now complete and I made a HUGE dent in the pile that was on the carpet.  All of those baskets are my leveled books for my Library.  Once my bookshelves are painted, I will be able to set up this area that will be behind my desk.  There are a lot of books and I still have more to go through!  Yikes!

In the meantime, there will be plenty to do from home:)

Today's Success!

Day 1 was a success in my classroom!  I always wish that I could have gotten more accomplished.  However, I am happy with today's work!

Here are a few pictures of what it looked like when I got there.  I did get a few things moved before taking the pictures though.

I took care of the open shelves quickly.  I do this every year and it makes such a difference!  I also worked on the bulletin boards.  I ran out of the garland and will need to finish it up next time.

I am lovin' the garland!

This is what my old bulletin board box looked like.  Pathetic, I know!

After some sorting and purging, here is what I now have!

Here are a few pictures of my room when I left.  I won't be able to go back for a few weeks now.  I brought home some curriculum items to go through and will work with that and what I have been pinning on Pinterest as well as my Tpt Wishlist!

Student tables and chairs should be in place when I return.
Of course, I still have my work cut out for me!  The next job will be reorganizing the books for our Classroom Library.  I have some ideas for it and am excited for when it is complete.

Happy Friday!

Tomorrow I Can Get Started!

Well, tomorrow I get to go into my classroom and finally start setting up!  I am always excited about this, but this year is different.  As I have announced before I am moving from Kindergarten to First Grade!  I am moving to a different room and starting fresh!  Our floors have been waxed and tomorrow I will go in to help with moving my furniture into the classroom.  Some things will be from my old room.  I have been thinking about how to set it up for weeks!

So, the car is loaded and ready to go!
Here are a few more purchases that I made recently thatI hope to try out tomorrow.

I have seen many bloggers posting about their homemade pennants.  I found this one at Hobby Lobby for $1.99.  I have a few ideas for it and it goes great with my color scheme!  I will post later on how it turns out!

Between these lanterns and the tissue paper pom poms, I am hoping to add a nice touch!

I posted earlier about the CUTE scrunchy boarders people are using.  I have had a couple different ideas about doing this.  However, when I saw I Love 1st Grade and her post regarding using paper garland instead, I got even more exctied!  I am not sure that I have enough, but I will get stared with these.
